Pet Show 'N Tell

You’re Invited to Pet Show ‘N Tell
What: In honor of National Animal Day on October 4th, I’d like to welcome each student to bring in their favorite pet to say hello to the class.
When: We’ll be doing this during study hall at 2:30-2:55PM.
***Please be aware that while I’d love to have each pet here for the entire day, we do have some students with allergies so we are limiting the time to just the end of the day.
Where: Due to some students’ allergies we will be holding our Pet Show N Tell in the gym where there is plenty of space and pet hair will be a breeze to clean up.

How to Participate:
Please bring your student’s pet with you at 2:30pm. I will draw names to see who goes first.
I ask that you only bring one pet per student.
Please be sure that your student’s pet, in a cage (if it is a small creature) or on a leash (for dogs) and is able to be around children without biting or having high anxiety. We want to protect both the students and your sweet fur babies!

***We will also be inviting the younger classes to join us and see the animal cuteness.

Native American Project

Native American Project
                  Due October 6th
Mrs. C’s 5th/6th Grade History

For this Native American Project you will chose one of the presentation formats listed below. You will share your knowledge of a particular tribe of American Indians. Please chose from any tribe listed in your book (or found online) for the Easter, Plains, or Western areas of North America. This can include the Indians of the Frozen North as well as Eskimos.

·        Dress/Act as your character: Come to class dressed like an Indian from the tribe you will be presenting. Give a five minute speech about life in your tribe.
·        Present a Poster: Fill a poster board with these five facts (explain in words and in pictures) about your chosen tribe. Clothing, Food, Language, Religious Beliefs, and Every Day Life.
·        Present a Diorama: Create a small scene of what life is like for your chosen Indian tribe. Describe to the class what your scene is and what the people are doing.
·        Present a Dish: Present a food dish from your chosen Indian tribe and describe, to the class, what life was like for that tribe.

This project will be completed at home and due for presentation on Friday, October 6th.  Each student will be graded both on their oral presentation and their physical demonstration.

We Won the Scripture Rock!

Great News! Last week Mrs. C's homeroom won the scripture rock (the coveted prize for reciting the class memory verse the best in Chapel)!  We recited Matthew 6:19-24 perfectly! We left our mark on it (painted it the color of blood at their request).

This morning we won the rock a second time! Mrs. C's homeroom students recited the first half of the Old Testament Books correctly along with the verse John 1:1.

Your students are very proud and you can be too. They are striving for their absolute best and seeing the fruit of their labor!
