A note from Mrs. Green Re: Christmas Program

Hello parents,

The permission slip you signed is to allow us to take your children to the Worship Center on Thursday for our play practice. They will be practicing there from 12pm-2pm. The permission slip also will allow us to bring them back to the school the following day when they do an all-school practice in the morning.
Also, this is a reminder - On Friday  morning, please drop your children off at the Worship Center rather than the school. We will be doing an all-school practice. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact us.The program is at 6:30 that night - 12/1.

Fireworks Letter From Mrs. Ebinger

Dear Parents,

Yes, it is time for the winter fireworks sign-up.  This event is done 2x per year to help North Pole Christian School keep our tuition low!!! This event takes place at the Gorilla Fireworks stand and starts 12/22/17, wrapping up on 01/01/18. This year, Mr. Evans and Mrs. Ebinger will be getting the schedule filled and be the “go-to” in the operations/running of the fundraiser.

We require families currently enrolled to volunteer 16 hours each year.  We prefer 8 hours in summer and 8 hours in the winter. This helps our school TREMENDOUSLY!!!  Without the volunteers, our rates would be so much higher.  Another awesome thing – aside from helping our school- is the 50% discount you receive for a 1x purchase for your help. The requirement for the discount is 8 hrs of work. You’ll be able to get your discount and product after your shift or come back. If you know anybody else that may want to work hours for a family or just wanting to help the school and get the sweet discount~ PASS THIS ALONG~ the more the better.

Please keep in mind that it is winter!! Dress for the cold.  We have been blessed with a camper, by a school family, which will be heated for warm up breaks and overnights. Also, set up is going to be a little different this year. We are setting up on 12/22 starting at 8:30am.  We will NOT start selling until 12/26. Volunteers for set up will only need to be there that day. The shifts will be 8:30am-1pm and 1pm-6pm. We will start our 24 hour security 8am 12/26 thru 01/01/18.

If you have any questions about the event~ email Mr. Evans, Mrs. Ebinger or your student’s teacher. This is the direct link to our winter fireworks sign up page, http://signup.com/go/ewTHcpc or you can sign up on the board in the foyer of the school.

Thanks so much for your time in this event!
Blessings!!!

*Please let us know if you need to know your tallied hours thus far.

Thanksgiving Festivities on Nov. 22

On Wednesday, Nov. 22, we will be baking pies and dipping candles - just like they did in days of yore. Each student will dip at least one candle and make one pie to bring home with them for Thanksgiving.

We are asking each student to help defray the cost by bringing in $5.  I understand we are all on a budget - so if this is not possible for your family please don't worry.  We will use some of our funds from our potato harvesting money that we have earned. If you have any questions please let us know.

Christmas Program

The Christmas program is quickly approaching, and your students have been getting 'into character" for their play they will present to you.  So here is the information you need to know:

North Pole Christian School Christmas Program
December 1: 6:30 p.m.
North Pole Worship Center

On program night, we would like all 3rd-8th grade students to be at the Worship Center by no later than 5:15pm. That will allow them to run through their lines one more time and work on any costume issues that might come up.

One last thing - On Thursday, Nov. 30, the whole school will be practicing at the Worship Center that morning.  Please drop off students at the Worship Center, rather than at school that day - Regular time. Students will be transported by bus back to the school.

Safe Families
Information meeting on Monday the 13th at noon, 3pm, or 6pm at First Church of the Nazarene in Fairbanks

Our school has teamed up with Safe Families for Children to collect winter gear for children in foster care.
Safe Families for Children is an international, nonprofit organization that surrounds families in crisis with faith-based support and compassion. Their goal is to keep children safe during family crisis such as homelessness, hospitalization, or domestic violence. They also do their best to support families during crisis to keep them together and prevent children from entering the welfare system.

Ms. Teaque Smith has invited us to attend an information meeting on Monday the 13th at noon, 3pm, or 6pm at First Church of the Nazarene in Fairbanks. She has also asked us to share info about the meeting with our friends, families, and churches so we can come along side this organization and support Safe Families for Children.

Cold Weather Gear

It is officially before 10 degrees most days and that means your student MUST HAVE all cold weather gear. This includes, snow resistant jacket, snow pants, snow resistant gloves, and snow boots. A hat and scarf is optional right now, but recommended.

If your student does not have these items they will stay inside during recess. It is simply too cold to go out without the proper gear.

October was a great month. We won the scripture rock on the first week! That's three times for us now!
