November and December Newsletter

Forgive me, it has been a while since I had the time update the blog! We have pushed through two whole months and are finally in 2018...a new year!

Last quarter we accomplished so much, here is a small snapshot.

November and December Accomplishments:
6th-8th grade:
Memory Verse Memorization (40 verses)
Spelling Words (160 words with even more for Vocabulary)
Units of History regarding the events that led to the American Revolutionary War.
Units of Math Review (Fractions and Decimals)

3rd-5th grade:
Units of History regarding missionaries, circuit riders, and preachers.
Units of Math Review (Geometry, Time, and Word Problems)

We also had fun at events like our Veterans Day Lunch, American Flag Demonstration, Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas program, and of course our Christmas Party.

I was so busy enjoying the time with your students that I neglected to take any pictures. I will try to do better this month so you can see just how much fun we have here!

Electives
I hope your student has shared with you the electives we've been doing. We started the year with P.E. and then moved to Drama just in time for our Christmas Play and finished out the year with Home Economics. We will be moving into Art in this new year and I am excited to see all the amazing work your students will produce. We have quite the class of artists this year.

Pizza Fridays
If you would like to participate in Pizza Fridays please send pizza money with your student ($4/slice, $2/extra slice) on Thursday. I generally never send out pizza slips, but it is still an option for your student.

Raffle
Our school is holding a raffle for a small IKEA Slide. The proceeds go to the school. Each entry costs $2 and you are welcome to enter your name more than once. Any staff member can take your entry, You can send the money with your student or enter when you come for drop off/pick up. If your children are to old for the slide, consider entering to win it as a gift for a friend with a toddler or PreK aged child.
