September Newsletter

We had an exciting month! We finished up our cross country races, had our last soccer game and accomplished many new concepts in Math and History.
Mrs. C's homeroom also worked hard on their Bible Verses and won the scripture rock twice in a row!

This Month's Accomplishments:
6th-8th grade:
Memory Verse Memorization (13 verses and all the O.T. books in order)
Spelling Words (80 words with even more for Vocabulary)
Units of History Regarding Eastern and Western America and Map Mastery
Units of Math Review (Measurements -Metric and English, Factors, and Prime vs. Composite #'s)

3rd-5th grade:
Units of History Regarding Immigration and our Nation's symbols of freedom
Units of Math Review (Borrowing, Carrying, and Prime Factors)

Here are some of the highlights in pictures:

We memorized our verses by using unusual tactics like standing on our heads

We celebrated Kierra's 10th birthday

We made good use of the nice weather and played outside for recess and P.E. (Here they're playing Man Overboard)

We learned the oh-so-important Peel the Avocado song (my apologies if it's still stuck in your head)

We took a 10 min. nap on some Thursdays before plowing through our Math

We learned a parable through acting it out (Parable of the Wedding Feast)

We learned about immigration through a simulated Ellis Island. Each immigrant had to ride to America in a "ship", produce a passport, and go through screening.

I wish I could capture SO many more of our awesome learning moments for you, but here you have the ones I was able to remember to use my camera for.

If you have any pictures from activities you attend with us, please feel free to email them to me. (acoelho@npcs.org)
