March Newsletter

Here are some highlights from our month!

March Accomplishments:
6th-8th grade:
Bible: Memory Verse Memorization: We have memorized so many verses we have lost count! Before the end of the year I will give a final tally. We are currently  discussing the gospel of Mark through activities, skits, and worksheets I encourage you to ask your students what they've learned so far.

Spelling: Spelling Words (120 words with even more for Vocabulary)

History: We have been learning about the process Our nation went through to rebuild after the Civil War. We are pressing forward into a New Era of inventions and automation. We also discussed immigration and how we all have roots in other countries. I purchased an Ancestry.com membership to help trace family trees for each student and have been excited and please with the results! I am excited for where our Lessons will be taking us in the following month (we're moving into the 1900's and the World Wars).

IT: While we have continued practicing our typing skills, the students have become proficient in hooking up a computer from start to finish. We've also been utilizing Code.org to see the exciting field of computers and IT and the coding that have changed our world. Please feel free to log in to your student's account and watch the videos too! Some lessons take us away from the computer to learn in a hands-on approach, what is happening in our world with technology.

One of our parents was creative and helped her students memorize the letters for each finger. These guys are all doing fabulous getting out of pecking and into touch typing!

Mrs. Green led a Seder Meal for Holy Week and we all LOVED remembering the reason for Easter! He has Risen!

I am incredibly proud of our 6th-8th students as they have won the scripture rock many times this semester AND they are always prepared to hear the Word of God in Chapel....ready to listen, digest and verify all the wonderful messages our guests share.
